An out of this world water ride
Forget everything you know about water rides-you’ve never
experienced anything like Alien Abduction. And neither have your
guests. This thrilling attraction combines the excitement of a highspeed
water ride with dynamic special effects-creating an experience
as exhilarating as any roller coaster, at a fraction of the cost.
Let the abductions begin.
Alien Abduction looms 75 ft above the ground, creating a dramatic
iconic structure that will attract customers to your park. Alien
Abduction takes a group of guests (18-27) from a “pre-show”
experience of firing “laser” water cannons at guests in a lazy river and
observing other guests being “abducted” into an alien space craft, to
being elevated into the alien craft themselves. When inside the alien
ship, guests experience being scanned and “juiced” by alien beings as
their load platform spins in all directions. Working together,
projections, lighting effects, mechanical systems, sound effects and
scenic treatments give each guest a memorable “abduction”
experience.
The attraction begins with “abductees” loading, at ground level, into
two-person rafts (there is a larger system that can handle threeperson
rafts) onto a platform that has nine individual bays; each
allowing guests to comfortably lay back in their rafts. Ride operators
stand on a central platform to make sure everyone is secure and that
guardrails have elevated. Once all the guests are securely resting in
their crafts, the platform rises into a cloud of fog and mechanical
sounds. A rain curtain falls from the edge of the platform, making it
appear as though water is levitating the platform. As the platform
continues to rise and nears the alien craft, lighting effects, blasts of
fog and the visuals of the interior of the ship mesmerize guests.
Electrical bursts across the ceiling of the ship activate the central
overhead feature (mechanical effects and a projection within a domed
surface) and various alien forms appear to be observing and
“selecting” their particular victims.
Once the main platform has entered the ship, it stops elevating and
begins to spin. When the platform stops spinning, three pod bays
mechanically elevate rafts and riders to simultaneously launch them
into three separate slide tubes. The platform spins again in the
opposite direction, stops and launches three more sets of rafts. After
the final (third) spin and launch sequence, the platform lowers to
ground level so that more unsuspecting guests can be “abducted”.
This unique guest experience does not end when guests are launched
into the slide tubes. Each slide tube contains lighting effects and a
multitude of projected aerial images never seen before within a
Waterpark slide tube. Guests will slide through images of alien
creatures with gaping mouths, pulsating walls, alien symbols, all while
alien sounds echo through the slide tubes. Since much of the imagery
is randomly produced using digital media, each slide tube will provide
a different and ever changing guest experience so that no two
“abductions” are ever the same.
Guests exit the slide tubes in a rush of fog, lights and sound. The pools
they land in pulse and change colors, frothing and bubbling as alien
energy rushes out of the tubes. All seems safe-until the next
abduction.
